Hi, I'm Daniel Niblock, creator of Down Town. I'm a graphic artist/animator living in Durham, North Carolina. I have a lovely wife named Dina, and a wonderful young daughter named Layla. On July 14, 2008, I became the father of Ozzie - a beautiful baby boy who has Down syndrome. After his birth, I quickly created a blog to chronicle my experience for friends and family. But I also had a lot of ideas for a Down syndrome Web site. I searched online, convinced that the site in my head must already exist. But it didn't, and the more I thought about it, the more obvious it became that I should just build it myself. And so I did.

Welcome to Down Town. I hope you feel at home here, and I hope you find this site useful.

If you enjoy visiting Down Town and would like to support this site, you can contribute in a few ways:

First, use the message board. Pretty please. Post your questions, post your advice for other parents, and post comments on what others have said. Your participation will help Down Town grow into a vibrant online meeting place where we can all get advice, discuss the latest news and trade words of encouragement.

Second, you can tell other people about this site. Spread the word far and wide - let everyone know that Down Town has rolled out a giant welcome mat for every family affected by Down syndrome.

And finally, if you are feeling especially generous, you can click the "donate" button and send a small contribution. 100% of your donation will be used to operate, enhance and promote this site. I have grand plans to add some exciting features to Down Town, content that doesn't exist anywhere else, and these features will require funds for voiceover professionals, videographers, software, hardware, advertising, etc. Your support can help make these plans a reality.

Enjoy your visit, and come back often.

Daniel Niblock
